Hosting a House Concert

Dave Wilkinson and I will be performing at a house concert in a few weeks. It’s already sold out, and we’re both really looking forward to it. We played at this venue a few years ago, and it was a great night — good music, a warm crowd, and a lot of money raised for a worthwhile cause.

House concerts are a brilliant way to bring music right into your home and close the gap that can exist between performers and audiences in more formal settings.

If you’d like to host a house concert that we might play at, please get in touch. See contacts at the top of the page.

  ## Concert Basics for Hosts

• Invite your guests personally to keep the atmosphere relaxed and friendly.
• Use a suggested donation or pass‑the‑hat rather than selling tickets.
• Create a listening space where people can settle in and enjoy the music without chatter.
• Plan a short break for drinks, conversation and merch.
• Keep the setup simple — comfortable seating and light sound are all that’s needed.
• Share any house rules (shoes off, parking, pets, etc.), so guests know what to expect.
• Make it personal — a warm welcome sets the tone for the whole evening.
