I Can't Seem to Get Myself Straight.

 This is a brand‑new song that finally came together yesterday, though the lines and melody had been circling in my head for weeks.

I kept hearing the opening:

*I was hopin’ to find the way home tonight,  

But I can't seem to get myself straight.'

 Once I sat down with the guitar and stopped overthinking, the story settled:

a late‑night drive, a breakup, and someone trying to steady themselves on a road that won’t stay still.

I shifted the key to A so I could add a bit of moothie.

Recorded guitar and vocal together, then layered the moothie on top.

 A quick mix‑down in Audacity and the whole thing clicked into place.

I loved the process — writing, recording, hearing things back.

Audacity makes it easy to spot what needs tightening.

A simple setup, but it works.
